Limpopo teen in the dock for murder of girl (15)

Tshinakaho Munyai (15) was stabbed to death on Saturday night.

An 18-year-old secondary school learner is expected to appear in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court today (December 8).

The teen was arrested yesterday (December 7) for the murder of 15-year-old Tshinakaho Munyai at Vhodwe village.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said in a statement that Munyai was in the company of the arrested teen on Saturday (December 5) night.

“He initially told the police that the victim was stabbed by an unknown suspect who confronted them while they walked from a local resort. Following meticulous investigations conducted by the police, the teen was arrested and charged with murder,” he explained.

At this stage, it is unclear what led to the argument.

Meanwhile, provincial police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe commended the police in Thohoyandou for their work. She also thanked residents who assisted the police in their fight against crime by providing valuable information.
