Load-shedding again: Problems with 11 units

There are unplanned outages at eight units and a delay in returning three units to service.

Eskom has announced that stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented in the late afternoon over the next two days.

Eight units have tripped: One each at Camden and Medupi, and two each at Grootvlei, Hendrina and Majuba power stations. A further three units, at Arnot, Koeberg and Kusile, are taking longer than anticipated to return to service.

The announcement follows a warning yesterday about several generation units being out of service.

Load-shedding will be implemented from 16:00 until midnight today and tomorrow. Eskom says it will issue a notice if anything changes.
