Load-shedding outlook: Stage 3 and 4 scheduled until Thursday

Uncertainty about diesel supply could see the country plunge back into more blackouts as higher load-shedding stages will have to be implemented.

South Africans should prepare for stage 3 and 4 load-shedding this week with the ever-present possibility that if something goes wrong, more power-cuts will follow.

Stage 3 load-shedding will be implemented from midnight to 16:00 daily where after stage 4 will come into effect during peak hours from 16:00 until midnight. This will continue until Thursday with Eskom saying it will give citizens an update by Wednesday afternoon.

The load-shedding schedule for the week.

A shortage in diesel supply is affecting the Ankerlig and Gourikwa Open Cycle Gas Turbines. Eskom says that it is expecting diesel deliveries from Tuesday but warned that higher load-shedding stages will have to be implemented if the supply uncertainty persists.
