Man appears in court for the alleged rape of his 14-year-old stepdaughter
A 31-year-old man arrested in connection with the alleged rape of his 14-year-old stepdaughter, was denied bail by the KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court last Friday.

The investigating officer, Det Vusi Makamo, testified how the accused allegedly raped the minor while her mother was in hospital to give birth.
Makamo told the court that the man threatened to chase his stepdaughter away and send her to Mozambique if she dared tell anyone about the ordeal. The child, however, told her mother what happened and the suspect was arrested.
The matter was postponed for further investigation and will be heard in court again on September 2.
In a separate matter a 37-year-old man arrested for the alleged rape of his 13-year-old daughter in Masoyi also appeared in the same court.
The matter was postponed for further investigation.
The incident reportedly took place when the child visited him at his residence on May 29.
According to the police, the father promised to buy the victim a pair of shoes and a smartphone so she would keep the incident to herself.
