Man found in aqueduct with laces around neck
Community Policing Forum (CPF) members yesterday, discovered a man “blue in his face” in an aqueduct close to the Burgershoop area of Krugersdorp yesterday.
The unconscious man was discovered by a group of school children who gathered near the aqueduct to get a glimpse of him. Soon there after, members of the Sector 5 CPF were called Krugersdorp News reported.
On arrival at around 2.45pm, the CPF members found the unknown man lying in the waterway. They immediately attended to him while he was turning blue in the face and had a weak pulse.
The man was unable to speak and members found what looked like shoelaces tied tightly around his neck.
ER24 was called to the scene. Paramedics stabilised the man before transporting him to Leratong Hospital for further medical treatment.
It is still unclear how the man ended up in the aqueduct with shoelaces tied around his neck.
In July, the body of a security guard was found dumped in a container, on a Block HH construction site in Soshanguve, Pretoria.
Police said the 45-year-old man’s body was discovered with his hands tied with wire and a crowd had been gathering at the gate of the construction site when the police arrived.
Equipment worth about R100 000, a generator and a power tool were stolen. It is believed the man may have been strangled.
