Man killed in Sebokeng in alleged attack linked to 2023 school dispute

Police say a man was confronted by suspects known to him, chased and stabbed multiple times in an attack allegedly linked to an old school feud.

A man has been stabbed to death in Sebokeng, allegedly by a former fellow learner with who he had differences in school three years ago with police saying the attacker’s brother supplied him with the murder weapon.

The Sedibeng Ster reports that the victim and a friend from Westside Park, were passing through Polokong on Wednesday when they were approached by someone. The man was known to them because they had an argument with him while still at school in 2023.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said the man confronted the duo, saying ‘I have finally found you’ before a fight erupted.

“The suspect’s brother gave him and his friend knives so they could stab the deceased and the person who was accompanying him,” said Mokhachane.

He said that the deceased was stabbed in the back several times while he was trying to flee for his life.

“The deceased was declared dead on the scene and taken to forensic pathology services for further investigation.”

Sebokeng station commander Brigadier Thembekile Kubone pleaded with the public to assist with information that may assist the investigation.
