Man killed in suspected drug-related shooting in Tshwane
The circumstances surrounding a shooting in which a man was killed are being investigated.
A man was killed in Aquamarine Street in Laudium, Tshwane, on Tuesday night, in what is suspected to be a drug-related drive-by shooting.
According to the Laudium CPF, the shooting sent shock waves through the community.
Muhammed Noor, the spokesperson for Laudium CPF, says they received a distress call via WhatsApp, prompting immediate action.
The police were notified and CPF patrollers were swiftly dispatched to the scene, says Noor. An ambulance was also immediately dispatched.
CPF members secured the area, closing off the scene to preserve evidence.
“The scene was handed over to police for further investigation,” says Noor.
Shaheen Wahab, the chairperson of Laudium CPF, thanked all roleplayers who responded to the incident, including emergency services and community members.
“This swift response demonstrates the effectiveness of community policing partnerships,” says Wahab.
Noor police had not commented at the time of publication.
