Man shot in KZN hijacking

The man was subsequently shot in the leg before the perpetrators fled with his car.

A resident was shot last night following a hijacking in Paradise, in KwaZulu-Natal, at about 7.30pm, Newcastle Advertiser reports.

According to sources, the man was allegedly accosted in Pyrenees Place in Paradise by two men.

The man was subsequently shot in the leg before the perpetrators fled in the victim’s car. The injured was stabilised on scene and taken to hospital.

Mark Jacobs, of Two Eagles Security, confirmed that one gun cartridge was found at the scene.

Police and Newcastle 911 Community Policing Forum were on scene, and attempted to track down the suspects.

The vehicle has not yet been found, although it is suspected the suspects headed out of Newcastle.
