Memorial held for Rhodes Park victim

The memorial service of 25-year-old teacher Zukisa Kela is expected to be held today at the Westbury Secondary School in Johannesburg.

Kela, who was a teacher at the school was tied up and drowned by 12 men at Rhodes Park Dam, along with his friend on Saturday, Westside Eldos reported.

The pair were at the Kensington Park park with their partners when the attack happened. One of the woman was also gang raped.

“This death has struck the school really bad as his learners even had to go for counselling,” said Been Robinson, principal of Westbury Secondary School.

“His register class was really attached to him so it has been a really hard week for them.” he added.

The memorial service will start at 12 pm.
