‘Monster maid’ Jolly Tumuhiirwe shows remorse in court

Ugandan ‘Monster Maid’ Jolly Tumuhiirwe has reportedly asked for forgiveness from the parents of the child she was filmed abusing.

State prosecutor Joyce Tushabe said Tumuhiirwe was remorseful when she appeared in court today, Agence France-Presse reported.

“She said she was sorry for the act,” Tushabe said. “She asked for forgiveness from the parents of the child, the nation, and those she said were affected by her acts.”

Tumuhiirwe (22) is due to be sentenced on Wednesday after pleading guilty.

This after video footage went viral showing Tumuhiirwe brutalising an 18-month-old girl.

In November, police charged Tumuhiirwe with torture under Sec. 41 of the Anti-Torture Act at the Nakawa Magistrates’ Court.

Tumuhiirwe had been remanded in custody until her sentencing.

In a separate incident, 22-year-old Dalishia Salter in Wilkinsburg in the US faces a number of charges including aggravated assault, terroristic threats and child endangerment.

This after her 11-month-old son was found beaten and “left to die” in September.

The boy’s father, David Bryant reportedly found the child severely beaten on the front porch.

Medical staff at the Children’s Hospital found a tear inside the child’s mouth, which was allegedly caused by an object being shoved in with “great force”, according to media reports.

Bryant was later arrested, and is facing charges of endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and criminal mischief.
