A teenage mother was arrested after the remains of her two-year-old daughter were found in the backyard of her family’s home in eMbalenhle on Friday, 21 February, Ridge Times reports.

According to the police, the shocking discovery was made by a family member who was grading the yard.

The suspect allegedly told her relatives that she took her daughter to the family of the child’s father.

The body of a child was exhumed on Saturday, 22 February.

The mother is facing a murder charge.
