Murder case opened after body found in Western Cape

A man with several open wounds on his head, believed to have been made by a sharp object, was found deceased.

Thembalethu Detectives opened a murder case after the body of an unidentified man was found in Zone 6 in Thembalethu in George in the Western Cape.

George Herald reports that the body was found last Thursday at about 12:40.

“Preliminary reports available indicate police were summoned to a scene where the body of the man was found.

“On arrival, the police established that the victim had several open wounds to the head, believed to be inflicted with sharp objects,” says Southern Cape police spokesperson Sargeant  Chris Spies.

Spies says the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are under investigation.

“We appeal to the public to come forward with any information in this matter, as well as to assist in tracing the next of kin of the deceased.”
