Mystery surrounds deaths of 2 men found in KZN

Two unidentified men were found shot dead near Mtuba, north of Richards Bay, leaving the community in shock as police investigate.

The bodies of two men in their mid-20s, not known to the Dalton community, were found with gunshot wounds on a roadside in the Mtuba area, north of Richards Bay in KZN.

The Witness reports that the incident has left the community devastated.

“No one deserves to die. Such incidents are rare in the area,” uMshwathi Mayor Mandla Zondi says of the discovery on Monday.

uMgungundlovu SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Sifiso Gwala says one victim was wearing navy and white shorts and a red, black and yellow golfer.

“He had bruises on his right shoulder and a gunshot wound to the head. The second victim is believed to be 25 years old, wearing grey tracksuit pants and a white long sleeve T-shirt.

“He had a gunshot wound under his shoulder and on the right side of his head. The motive and suspects are unknown at this stage. Dalton SAPS are investigating a double murder case,” Gwala explains.
