Police are on scene and attempts are being made to remove the trucks
The N3 at Van Reenen remains closed this morning (December 3) due to protest action.
KZN police spokesperson Brigadier Jay Naicker said that in the early hours of this morning, the N3 at Van Reenen was blocked in both directions by truck drivers.
The truckers parked their vehicles in the roadway and in most cases, they removed the keys from the ignition.

Naicker adds that police are currently on scene and attempts are being made to remove the trucks from the road.
Police advise people to avoid the area and use alternate routes at this time. Motorists are, however, urged not to use the R74 Oliviershoek as an alternative route, but rather go via Newcastle on the N11.
