Newborn baby found bundled in Richards Bay refuse bin

Two incidents of babies being dumped happened in this KZN city recently.

Richards Bay police joined EMRS paramedics at the scene earlier this week where a deceased baby boy had been discovered in a refuse bin.

This was the second such incident in the same area in the city in the space of a week.

On August 16, in mid-afternoon, a warmly dressed male boy child was found discarded in a bin opposite the taxi rank.

Medics estimated the infant to be a couple of days old.

Tuesday night’s casualty, some 200m from the first incident, appeared to be newly-born child and was probably also placed in the bin during the busy daytime period.

Any person who might have information regarding the sad fatalities can call the nearest police station.
