One suspect arrested for theft
MBOMBELA – Management of Town Lodge can finally heave a sigh of relieve as a number of suspects, who have been terrorising guests for some time now, were stopped in their tracks.
Quick response by the Lodge’s security guards led to the arrest of one suspect on Sunday, Nelspruit Post reported.
According to Nico Grobler of Hi-Tech Security, three suspects managed to flee the scene.
“Just after 20:00 we received an alert at the emergency call centre and immediately rushed to the scene,” Grobler said. Upon arrival the Lodge’s security guards showed in which direction the suspects fled Hi-Tech managed to successfully arrest one male suspect.
According to Grobler it is alleged that the same group can probably be linked with numerous other incidents of crime in the area.
It was reported to Grobler that the same group apparently stole one of the guest’s handbags earlier that night. Information was received on Tuesday that two of the lodge guests were allegedly involved in Sunday’s incident.
Grobler as well as City Lodge’s communication manager, Angus Macmillan expressed their gratitude towards the Lodge security guards and thanked them for their quick response.
MacMillan said guest can be rest assured that security is monitored constantly and that they will not hesitate to improve security if the need arises.
