Oosthuizen signs up for Saudi golf league

In his professional career, Louis Oosthuizen has secured a total of 14 victories.

South African Louis Oosthuizen is set to be the highest-ranked player to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf International Series.

According to The Telegraph, the world No 15 is extremely keen to “respect the integrity of the Majors” and will wait until Monday or Tuesday to officially announce his participation in the opening $25-million, 54-hole LIV Golf event at Centurion Club in Hertfordshire from 9-11 June.

Oosthuizen, who is currently playing in the PGA Championship at Southern Hills, won the 2010 Open and has finished as runner-up on five occasions in Majors, including last year’s US Open and PGA Championship.

The full 48-man field for the first LIV Golf event is expected to be made public on Friday and will also include Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Martin Kaymer.
