While everything is relatively quiet on the coast this morning, the town of Port Shepstone remains in complete lockdown with only emergency vehicles and essential workers allowed through.

Community members united in full force last night to protect their suburbs, and there where very few incidents reported.

However, residents in Sea Park have woken up to no water.

With regards to the road situation, Izotsha and the area of Murchison are closed off.

Shelly Beach to Ramsgate is all clear for now.

A few shops and petrol stations are open this morning.

Queues to stores have been extremely long and while some have opened, reports suggest it will only be for a few hours.

Messages doing the rounds on WhatsApp groups are calling for communities to remain on high alert.
