Pretoria teenager killed in horrific early morning accident

A teenager was killed and two of his friends injured in an accident in Silverton during the early hours of Sunday morning.

A horrific accident in the early hours of Sunday left one Pretoria teenager dead and two of his friends injured.

Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to a high impact collision involving two vehicles, in Silverton during the early hours of this morning.

According to Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen, three male patients, all believed to be 16 years of age, were found entrapped within the wreckage.

The vehicle was found wrapped around the pole.

“The driver as well as one passenger of the vehicle were in a critical condition, with the third occupant sustaining moderate injuries.

With the assistance of the Tshwane Fire Department as well as the Gauteng Provincial Government’s “Rescue Unit, the extrication process began to free the patients from the wreckage.”

Van Reenen said the condition of the driver demised whilst still trapped within the vehicle and he was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.

“The critically injured passenger was cut free using the Jaws-of-life and placed onto a ventilator by Emer-G-Med’s Advanced Life Support Paramedic.

“Due to the nature of the his injuries, a decision was made to airlift him to an awaiting specialist facility.”
