Proteas’ Cricket World Cup kit revealed

The national men's side has unveiled the strip they will wear at the upcoming Cricket World Cup in India.

The Proteas’ 2023 ODI World Cup shirt features a new sponsor on the leading sleeve.

Amul, India’s largest fast-moving consumer goods brand, has become the Proteas’ first shirt sponsor since Standard Bank opted not to renew its title sponsorship deal in April 2020 due to Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) boardroom battles.

CSA is reportedly set to earn $3m (about R56m) from the Amul deal.

“We are pleased to announce our association with Amul for the 50-over ICC Cricket World Cup,” says CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki. “Amul is a brand that is synonymous with excellence and consistency which reflects our own commitment to playing world class cricket.

“The partnership is a significant boost for the Proteas as they prepare to compete on the global stage, aiming to clinch the coveted World Cup trophy.”

The Proteas depart for India tomorrow and will get their campaign underway on October 7 against Sri Lanka in Delhi.
