R100 000 reward offered to find Roodepoort man’s murderers

A man from Roodepoort was shot and killed inside a vehicle he helped towed.

In an attempt to help solve the murder case of Simon Kekana of Honeydew, police now offer a R100 000 reward to anyone with information that can assist the investigation.

Simon and his wife Naomi were towing a Toyota Avanza that had broken down in front of their Cosmo City home in Akansa Crescent.

Two armed men approached the couple and ordered them to remain quiet before one of them shot Kekana, who was seated in the Toyota Avanza. He was rushed to Leratong Hospital where he subsequently died.

His murder case (CAS 432/04/2022) was registered at the Honeydew Police Station on April 13 but little progress has been made in the case.

Due to the severity of the crime and the commitment of the family the Honeydew Police have offered a R100 000 reward for information that will result in the arrest and conviction of the murderers.

Police requested those with information to contact Colonel Madinginye on 082 568 4589.
