Rameez Patel to next appear for his mother’s murder in 2019

The Polokwane Magistrates Court has referred the murder case of Rameez Patel’s mother, Mehjabeen, to the Limpopo High Court, Polokwane Review reports.

Mehjabeen Patel (51), and her domestic worker were at home around 19:00 on Tuesday, 19 September 2017 when she was shot and wounded. She was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a few hours later.

Patel, who stands accused of murdering his wife, Fatima at their home in Nirvana in 2015, was arrested nine days later and charged with the murder of his mother.

Patel’s mother was shot and killed a year after his father was also shot and killed in Platinum Street, Polokwane.

The decision was made earlier today and Patel will next appear in the Limpopo High Court from 27 to 31 May 2019.
