Revenge leads to brutal murder near George

It is believed the man who was murdered, previously assaulted his attackers.

Two suspects from Thembalethu near George, aged 23 and 22, were arrested on Tuesday morning at their homes in Zone 8 and 9 respectively in connection with the brutal murder of a man on Saturday, July 2.

According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie, the victim, Thandolwethu Adams (28), was attacked by three men armed with knives and pangas in Nelson Mandela Boulevard at about 09:25 that morning.

He sustained fatal stab wounds to his head and back and died on the scene.

“The motive of the attack seems to be revenge, as the victim allegedly assaulted all three suspects on a previous occasion. They teamed up against the deceased after one of them was discharged from hospital,” said Pojie.

The two men were due to make their first court appearance in the George Magistrate’s Court later today. Police are still looking for the third suspect.
