Rickelton goes under the knife

The Proteas player said on social media that he didn't have the easiest month after undergoing surgery recently.

Ryan Rickelton has finally had an operation on his troublesome left ankle.

The wicketkeeper-batsman had put off the surgery in order to play in the SA20 and for the Proteas.

Rickelton played in the second Test against the West Indies at the Wanderers – scoring 22 and 10 with the bat – before making his ODI debut in the subsequent series, in which he scored 14 and three.

“Not the easiest month, but great to be involved against WI in two quality series,” he wrote on Instagram. “Lots to get better at, and looking forward to doing so after recovering 🩼.”
