Search for missing KZN toddler continues
The little girl was last seen playing in her yard six days ago.
The Qwabe family from Gomba in Weenen, KZN, are appealing for help in finding Kanvelihle Qwabe (2), who has been missing since September 21.
According to a voice note sent to Estcourt News by a member of a community committee, it is alleged that the child was playing alone in the yard of the family home sometime between 15:00 and 16:00 on the day she disappeared.
Her grandmother and other children were at home, while the child’s mother was at work. When the mother arrived home, the child’s absence was discovered.
The family searched everywhere, with assistance from the community, but to no avail.
The little girl was wearing a white T-shirt with pink and blue striped leggings.
“There are no signs that someone entered the home and stole the child, not even unknown shoe tracks,” said a distraught family member.
Ward councillor Lucky Mlele said he is aware of the situation.
The family reported the disappearance and a case was opened at Colenso Police Station.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan says Colenso SAPS is investigating. Anyone with information is requested to contact 082 462 9413 or 036 422 2222.
