Several Pretoria schools closed ahead of EFF march to old age home

The EFF is set to start their ‘racism march’ from Queens Corner to Huis Herfsblaar.

Several schools in the Queenswood area in Pretoria will be closed on Wednesday, July 28, due to an EFF march to Huis Herfsblaar old age home.

Eduplex, laerskole Queenswood and Nellie Swart and Loreto School have decided to shut their doors.

“We were informed by the police that it is advisable to close the school.

“The safety of our staff and children are of utmost importance to us,” said Marcello Pallozzi, principal of Loreto.

The EFF is set to start their “racism march” – according to the party’s poster announcing the protest action – from Queens Corner to Huis Herfsblaar in Webb Street.

The march will start at 10:00.

Huis Herfsblaar could not be reached for comment.

At the time of going to press, police were yet to comment on the march and the metro police were yet to advise which streets would be affected during the march.
