Some clean up Alex’s Pan, others continue to loot (Video)

Many of those cleaning up are volunteering their efforts to assist.

Clean-up efforts have begun around the streets of Pan Africa Shopping Centre which was looted over the past couple of days, yet some continue to loot.

Many of those lending a hand to clean up the mess today, July 14, are volunteers.  Alex News intern-journalist, Comfort Makhanya is on the scene and said some roads remain closed.

Some security guards, who did not want to be named, claimed looters continue to enter Pan Africa Shopping Centre from one of the shops to see what else they can take from the stores – even stealing the mall’s light bulbs.

The guards did, however, say the arrival of the South African Defence Force yesterday afternoon, July 13, helped to ease the looting.

The looting has left devastation in and around the vicinity of the shopping centre.
