Eldorado Park police have expressed concern about a voice note widely shared on social media platforms, in which the author threatens to harm Uber and Bolt drivers who accept requests and drop off clients at Eldorado Park.

According to local SAPS communication officer Sergeant Fezeka Khobo, this stems from an incident that occurred two weeks ago, where three men were shot, allegedly by an Uber driver, while they allegedly attempted to rob him.

“The three males who allegedly attempted to rob the Uber driver are affiliated with one of the famous gangs in Eldorado Park, and now the gang leader wants to get revenge on any Uber or Bolt driver,” claims Khobo.

“The Eldorado Park SAPS has issued a warning to Uber and Bolt drivers to avoid accepting requests or pick-ups from Eldorado Park.”

The SAPS says it does not condone e-hailing drivers breaking the law, neither does it tolerate any robberies on their watch.
