Stage 6 load-shedding to be implemented at 16:00
Higher stages of rolling power cuts are forecast for the rest of the week as Eskom is unable to cope with a higher than expected demand.

Eskom will escalate load-shedding to stage 6 from 16:00, the power utility has announced.
It cites a shortage of generation capacity for the escalation and says this stage of power cuts will continue until 05:00 tomorrow.
Schedule:
Wednesday:
Stage 6: 16:00-00:00
Thursday:
Stage 6: 00:00-05:00
Stage 5: 05:00-16:00
Stage 6: 16:00-00:00
Friday:
Stage 6: 00:00-05:00
Stage 5: 05:00-16:00
Stage 6: 16:00-00:00
The power utility says breakdowns currently amount to 16 722MW of generating capacity loss while a further 5 807MW is unavailable due to planned maintenance.
Due to a shortage of generation capacity, Stage 6 loadshedding will be implemented from 16:00
