“This will give the 2021 matriculants, who will receive their results towards the end of January, a chance to apply for the available work opportunities,” said Stats SA’s head of human resources, Mantwa Montsho.

Those who wish to apply for work can do so via the online portal at www.statssa.gov.za/hr.

Areas of work include fieldwork/data collection, data capturing, data processing, clerical and administrative and supervisory positions.

Should applicants experience difficulties when applying, the call centre can be contacted on 0800 110 248.

“Call centre agents are available to assist prospective candidates with the online applications,” she said.

Montsho advised that applicants should not submit personal documents such as their ID, certificates and the like to anyone.

“Extending the Census Recruitment Drive will not affect census data collection and fieldwork will commence on Census Night, February 2, as scheduled,” she said.
