Suspect arrested in connection with Normandien farm murders

News of the arrest precedes another visit to the area by Police Minster, Bheki Cele, to provide an update on the case.

One person is expected in court tomorrow (Monday, September 21) in connection with the murders of Glen and Vida Rafferty at their Normandien farm, Hanover almost a month ago, Northern Natal News reports.

Multiple sources have confirmed the suspect’s arrest, including investigating officer, Captain Attie Engelbrecht of the Organised Crime Task Team. He thanked everyone who assisted with information and urged anyone else with information to come forward or call 082 417 6905.

“Further arrests will hopefully be made soon,” he commented.

News of the arrest precedes another reported visit to the Normandien area tomorrow by Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, and follows a high-ranking Government delegation visit to Newcastle yesterday, where Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Sihle Zikalala engaged with representatives of the greater farming community – KZN Premier to appoint farm matters team.
