Suspects still at large following Krugersdorp house robbery

Tarlton police in Krugersdorp, on the West Rand have launched a manhunt after two suspects pounced on a domestic worker in Reydal.

Police spokesperson Constable Lucky Matome said the domestic worker was busy with laundry on Tuesday at about 11am when the suspects stormed into the house, held an object against her head, tied her up and instructed her to keep quiet.

Matome added the suspects demanded house keys and took her to another room.

“They ransacked the house and took a safe which contained documents, jewellery and an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene,” said Matome.

A case of house robbery is under investigation.

Police are appealing to the public to come forth with any information regarding this incident by contacting Tarlton police on 011-952-0012/29.

Earlier this month, police were investigating a case of house robbery after two armed suspects robbed a house in Forest Hills, Durban, in KwaZulu-Natal.

“It is alleged the owner of the house was smoking outside when he saw two men coming towards him. He ran back to the house screaming for help, but the two men caught up with him and pushed him to the floor, pointing a gun at him,” said Hillcrest police communications officer Constable Ndumiso Manqele.

Manqele said the man, his wife and the brother of his wife were tied up before the robbers demanded bank cards and pins.
