Three seriously injured in Marabastad car crash

A man was left critically injured and two other people with minor to serious injuries after an accident in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The man is fighting for his life in the Steve Biko academic hospital, the Pretoria Moot Rekord reported.

Best care ambulance services spokesperson Xander Loubser said the crash happened around 02:15 in Marabastad on the corner of Cowie and Struben streets.
“Two vehicles collided, leaving one man in a critical condition and two other people with slight to serious injuries.”

Loubser said the first man was taken to Steve Biko academic hospital and the other two injured to the Tshwane District hospital.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this stage.

This after it was reported that a man died and several other people were seriously injured when a taxi and a bakkie collided along the Inanda Road near the SPCA on Sunday morning.

The cause of the accident was still unknown and police were investigating.

“Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the roadway obstructed with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles,” he said.

Paramedics from various services stabilised six seriously injured patients at the scene before transporting them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
