Thugs rob and gang-rape business owner near Carletonville

The owner of a small business in Welverdiend went through a horrible ordeal this week.

A woman in Welverdiend near Carletonville was raped in her house after robbers kicked down her door.

The Carletonville police say the woman runs a business from her home. She was asleep when the incident happened at around 00:10 last Saturday.

Three men first kicked the door open where one of her employees was staying.

They told the employee to keep quiet and then proceeded to the owner’s room. She immediately woke up when she heard someone entering.

“Who are you?” the owner asked, but the thugs did not reply. Instead, they asked for money and cell phones.

When the owner said she did not have any money, they grabbed her cell phone, and the men took turns raping her.

Afterwards, the criminals went to another employee’s room, where they stole three cell phones. They then escaped by jumping over the property wall.

The police are investigating a business robbery charge and three counts of rape following the incident.
