Toddler, 2, killed in crash as mom helplessly watches

Chris Botha, spokesperson for Netcare 911 said the father and child were in a car when they collided with a truck at 00:20. The child’s mother was travelling in a separate car behind them and witnessed the accident unfold, the Pretoria East Rekord reported.

“Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the two-year-old-child had died due to the extensive injuries sustained, the father was in a serious condition,” said Botha.

“After the man was stabilised at the scene they transported him to a nearby hospital for the care that he required.”

Botha said the crash was being investigated by police.
