Truck overturns outside Polokwane, kills pedestrian

UPDATE: R81 road open between Mooketsi and Sekgopo

Motorists using the R81 between Polokwane and Mooketsi were advised to use the alternative, Morebeng and Munnik roads. This after a truck overturned and blocked the road between Sekgopo and Mooketsi, says Media Liaison Officer for the Department of Transport, Mike Maringa.

“Preliminary reports indicates that a truck failed to stop at the Stop and Go and overturned. During the incident a pedestrian was killed and the driver of the truck as well as a passenger were injured.”

Maringa says traffic officials are on the scene to redirect traffic.
