“The motive for the murder is still unknown and the husband is still at large.”
On Thursday, community members held a candlelight vigil to raise awareness about gender-based violence.
Community activist and president of #Ragana Portia Chauke said the community is still upset about the incident.
“The candlelight vigil is important because we want to make sure what happened to Lindiwe does not happen again.”
Chauke said they were happy with the number of men who attended the vigil.
“We do not feel safe around men and we do not know where to run to anymore because they are the ones who are supposed to protect us.”
Maluleka said anyone with information should contact the police on Crime Stop number 0860 10111 or MySAPS App or Rietgat SAPS on 012 432 7806.
