Two Limpopo women brutally murdered

A man has been arrested for one of the murders with police requesting another man to contact them in connection with the second murder.

The bodies of two women in Limpopo, who went missing in December, were found on Tuesday and Thursday.

Limpopo SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the first victim, a 36-year-old woman, was discovered by a family member in Mukula village on Tuesday.

Avhurengwi Rambuda’s body, with marks all over indicating that she was hit with a sharp object and with her one wrist chopped off and missing, was wrapped in a blanket and placed on the seat of an unused pit-toilet when it was discovered.

Rambuda was last seen at her home in Mukula village on 30 December.

Thohoyandou police are requesting Azwimpheleli Mashau to contact them as they believe he can assist with the investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Investigating Officer Sergeant Rambuluwani Nekhavhambe on 071 511 1213 or crime stop number 08600 10111 or nearest police or My SAPSApp.

In the second incident a man (40) was arrested in connection with the murder of Venolia Skosana (26) whose body was found in a river at Khathazweni outside Hlogotlou on Thursday.

Skosana was reported missing on December 31 at Hlogotlou SAPS. Their initial investigation revealed that she was last seen at Holnek village in the Zaaiplaas policing area where she was attending an event.

The discovery of Skosana’s body in a decomposed state, as well as the arrest of the suspect happened when police acted on information received.

Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo of the Limpopo SAPS says the suspect is being charged with kidnapping and murder with the possibility that more charges could be added.
