University lecturer reported missing in Free State
His brother says he left to go watch soccer at friend and has not been seen since.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a Free State-based university lecturer.
Kgatliso Edwin Makgetla (28), who is a university lecturer in Welkom, was last seen at Calabira in Meloding on Friday May 5, where he is staying with his brother.

Free State police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng says Kgatliso’s brother informed police that he thought Makgetla visited a friend to watch soccer that day, however, he never returned.
Thakeng says the brother further informed police that he tried calling Makgetla on May 7, but his phone rang and was not answered. His family and friends were later contacted about his whereabouts but could not manage to trace him.
Police were also informed that Makgetla has never been at work at a university in Welkom since his disappearance.
According to Thakeng, it is unknown what he was wearing when he disappeared.
“His wife, who is residing in Johannesburg, was also contacted and related that she last spoke with her husband Khatliso on Sunday. The room where he resided was searched and his cell phone and wallet are missing. The missing person left with his black Ford Fiesta with registration number HKL 032 FS,” Thakeng adds.
He requested anyone with information on the whereabouts of Makgetla, who is described as short and light in complexion, with a short haircut, to contact Detective Sergeant Lucky Nkoala at 082 466 8025 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
