UPDATE: Amanzimtoti shooting victims identified
The man and woman shot dead in Adams Mission area, near Amanzimtoti, in KwaZulu-Natal have been identified as Boh Zulu and his girlfriend, Gugu Sibisi.
It is believed the couple had just arrived home when they were shot and killed before getting out of their car on Saturday night, South Coast Sun reported.
KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Willies Mchunu has strongly condemned the cruel double murder.
Mchunu expressed anger and shock at the double murder and appeals to anyone who might have any information that might lead to the arrest of those responsible to come forward immediately.
“I am deeply shocked by this double murder. It is totally abhorrent, senseless and inhumane. We condemn it, and we will follow it until there is an arrest and conviction,” said Mchunu.
“I am assured that members of the police are working round the clock to ensure that those who are responsible for these coldblooded murders are brought to justice as soon as possible,” added Mchunu.
Mchunu also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of Zulu and Sibisi.
The couple is survived by three children. The motive for the shooting remains unknown.
Investigations are ongoing.
