Vanderbijlpark crash: Police confirm 2 more fatalities, driver due in court

Two more fatalities have been confirmed in Monday’s horrific taxi-truck collision, ahead of the scholar transport driver’s first court appearance today.

Two more learners from the horrific crash that took place on Monday morning on the R553 outside Vanderbijlpark, involving a Toyota Quantum scholar transport taxi and a tipper lorry, died in hospital in the early hours of this morning.

Sedibeng Ster reports that the minibus was transporting children to various schools, including El-Shaddai Christian School, Oliver Lodge Primary School, Vaal Triangle Primary School, Vaal High School and Suncrest High School.
