VIDEO: Businessman guns down two robbers
A Mamelodi-based Chinese businessman allegedly killed two men who reportedly tried to rob his shop in Denneboom, east of Pretoria recently.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Johannes Mahesho, four robbers entered the shop and held staff at gunpoint, Rekord East reported.
“While holding staff hostage, the men packed an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes into a bag,” he said.
As the suspects tried to escape, the businessman gunned down two of them. The other two were arrested in the shop.
CCTV video footage later emerged on the Crime Air Network Initiative’s twitter page showing the incident.
In the footage, one of the suspected robbers are seen scurrying before collapsing seemingly after being shot.
Maheso said two guns, suspected to belong to the robbers, were found on the scene.
“The two suspects, Mandla Justice Kunene, 49, and Mlungisi Frank Sindane, 25, appeared in the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court on Friday, and were remanded in custody,” Maheso said.
