Video: High-speed chase in Pretoria ends in fatal shooting

The suspect allegedly started shooting at a security officer while attempting to flee an accident scene.

A high-speed chase through the street of Pretoria ended in a fatal shooting, and it was all caught on camera.

According to Bull Security, they spotted a Range Rover Evoque matching the description of a vehicle taken during a house robbery in Sinoville on Wednesday.

A high-speed chase ensued and ended when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the barriers on the Garsfontein off-ramp from the N1. The vehicle overturned.

The security company said on Facebook that the suspect attempted to flee the accident scene, adding that he started shooting at a security officer in the process.

“After a shootout between the suspect and the security officer, the suspect was fatally wounded. All role players were contacted, and the scene was cordoned off”.

The company expressed its gratitude and the dedication that its members showed on the day.

The police recovered a Norinco 9 mm pistol (serial number removed), five live rounds of ammunition, and Norinco magazine.

A case of robbery has since been opened at Brooklyn police station.
