Video: Springs community rallies for boy (10) shot in house robbery
Over 200 residents gathered for a mass prayer meeting following the tragic shooting of a young boy in a Springs home robbery.
A 10-year-old boy was shot in the head during an armed robbery at his home on Clydesdale Road in Springs on Friday evening.
Springs Advertiser reports the child was rushed to hospital and is currently in a critical condition. According to information received from a reliable source, the incident occurred just before 22:00.
At the time, the child was at home with his stepmother and younger sibling. The community rallied together on Saturday evening when a mass prayer meeting was held in a park in Casseldale.
More than 200 people attended the gathering to pray for the young victim’s recovery and to show support for his family.
A large number of CPF members and other residents also drove by in a show of solidarity for the young victim and his loved ones.
Springs SAPS are investigating.
