People flocked to the beach to have a closer look at the carcass.

A whale washed up south of Port Edward yesterday afternoon while a great white shark, suspected to have been killed by orcas, washed up in Hartenbos on Sunday.

It appears the young humpback whale may have been hit by a boat, or attacked by a shark.
All the relevant authorities, including the municipality and KZN Sharks Board were notified and were on the scene.
On Sunday, a great white shark washed up on the beach at Hartenbos near Mossel Bay in the Western Cape.
Researchers moved the carcass to the Dias Maritime Museum for dissection. It is suspected that the shark may have died as result of being attacked by an Orca.
