Hundreds of patients were evacuated from Pretoria East Hospital after a fire broke out yesterday.
According to Pretoria Rekord, a swift response from emergency services saw officials working to secure the area and ensure safety.
It is believed that various ambulance services transported the patients to nearby hospitals.

By 20:00, the fire was brought under control.
Ward 101 Councillor Malcolm Ian de Klerk confirmed that all patients had been safely evacuated, with various emergency services actively responding on-site.
Reliable sources at the scene confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Earlier reports suggest the fire may have originated in the hospital’s compressor room, though this has not been confirmed.
