WATCH: A heart for Tom Cruise in Hoedspruit

Cruise had quite a lengthy interaction with some of his fans after a day of filming.

Tom Cruise took a moment to have a chat with some fans in Hoedspruit on Tuesday.

After landing his helicopter in the usual spot with his group of fans waiting, instead of waving and getting into his car, he walked over to the group, answered a few questions and thanked them for all of their support.

One member of the small crowd, Savanna Kay (13), drew a heart in the sand with “Tom” written in it prior to Cruise’s arrival.

When he walked over, they drew his attention to the heart and got a heartfelt thank you.

“She couldn’t believe the effect it had on the actor when he walked over to greet the crowd and found himself standing in the heart!” said her mother, Melanie Kay Owtram, who filmed the whole interaction.

Savanna had just come from ballet practice and told her mom they would be going to see Cruise.

Owtram said they have been to greet him at the end of a day of filming about three or four times. “Some people have been there every day.”

She mentioned that if it had not been for Covid-19, she was sure he would have interacted more closely with the crowd.

Cruise is in the town busy filming the next Mission: Impossible instalment.
