A cash-in-transit security guard was robbed of the cash he had just collected from a shop in the Isipingo CBD, and his service pistol.

The robbery occurred on Wednesday, and the incident was caught on CCTV footage.

KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda says the suspects fled the scene, but were later cornered in a house in Umlazi and a shoot-out ensued.

Two suspects were killed, while the third escaped.
