Watch: Bok gifts Pollard his first Premiership try

Leicester Tigers were well beaten by Sale Sharks in Handre Pollard's debut game.

Flyhalf Handre Pollard crossed the whitewash in his maiden start for Leicester Tigers after pouncing on a loose pass from Sale Sharks rival Robert du Preez yesterday.

Du Preez, though, made up for his error, as the one-cap Springbok scored 18 points that included a last-minute try as Sale demolished Leicester 40-5 at Salford City Stadium.

Pollard, who was making his long-awaited return from injury, was withdrawn early in the second half of the English Premiership clash.

“Handre was only due to play 40 minutes but we managed him for as long as we could,” Leicester interim boss Richard Wigglesworth said.

“He’s new to this team and new to us, but you can see his class. He will only get better and better for us.”
