WATCH: Fiery situation as black mamba found in braai in Durban

At first, the homeowner wasn't convinced the snake he just saw was a Black Mamba, until it was revealed to him by the snake rescuer, Nick Evans.

A Westville North resident was left shaken when he discovered a Black Mamba in the family’s gas braai yesterday, December 29.

According to Nick Evans, a local snake rescuer, the homeowner was taking a walk in his garden when he suddenly spotted the 2m Black Mamba relaxing on the braai.

“The snake got as much of a fright as he did, and dashed inside. Flee rather than fight, as usual,” said Evans.

Evans described the rescue as a relatively quick and easy catch and applauded the homeowner for calling for professional help.
